Academic Music Areas

In the Academic Music Department, we take pride in our dedicated faculty and exceptional 7:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Here, we lead internationally recognized research and offer endless professional development opportunities, all designed to equip students with the skills and experience needed for successful music careers.

Several Academic Music Areas are aligned under the umbrella of THEME, an interdisciplinary colloquium in music theory (T), musicology-music history (H), ethnomusicology (E), and music education (ME). THEME researchers meet for regular presentations and discussion, and provide constructive feedback for one another as they develop their various research projects.
