Berwick Academy

Leading exponents of period performance from all over the world visit Eugene specifically to teach during the three-day Berwick Academy intensive training course, which takes place just before the start of the Bach festival. 

Berwick Academy, the Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy (SFYCA) have become the heart of OBF. The opportunity to study and perform alongside professional artists has inspired thousands of aspiring young musicians from around the country with performances that draw local, national, and international acclaim.  

Orchestral Conducting Workshop

The University of Oregon Summer Conducting Institute is designed for 8-10 experienced, pre-professional conductors to learn how to better use both musical creativity and gesture to get more of what you want from the orchestra.  

Musicking Conference

Musicking’s mission is to stimulate student and community interest in early music and historical performance practice studies by offering five days of academic scholarship, educational performance classes, and a variety of performances that are free and open to all students and community members. 

Opera Outreach

The UO Opera Ensemble believes outreach is a major component of the mission of the UO School of Music and Dance, including an ongoing collaboration with the Eugene Opera. Contact opera instructor Dr. Karen Esquivel coordinate a possible visit from the UO Opera Ensemble.  

Summer Academy for Computer Music

Each summer the UO School of Music and Dance hosts students from the top music institutes in China at the Summer Academy for Computer Music. This intensive two-week workshop examines technical and artistic topics related to music composition with computers. Contact Jeffrey Stolet for more information. 

Beta Percussion Institute

A seminar on percussion playing and writing hosted by the UO School of Music and Dance
