UO Opera Brings Magic to Bend
 
March 26, 2015—On Wednesday, April 15, the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance will present the UO Music Fest in Bend, an annual free concert showcasing popular musical performers from the university’s Eugene campus. The 2015 Music Fest will feature a performance by the award-winning UO Opera Ensemble in a program titled “Once Upon an Opera.”
 
The 45-minute, family-friendly concert is scheduled for 7 p.m.

March 13, 2015—The UO Opera Ensemble continued its winning streak last weekend at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Cascade Chapter’s Classical Festival, held March 7 at Portland State University.
 
The National Association of Teachers of Singing is the largest singing teachers’ association in the world, with members in more than 25 countries.

March 12, 2015—A University of Oregon faculty member has recently adopted an important role on the national stage. Alexandre Dossin, associate professor of piano performance and piano literature at the UO School of Music and Dance, has been named Vice-President of the prestigious American Liszt Society.
On the Passing of Dave Frohnmayer
March 10, 2015—The UO School of Music and Dance community is saddened to learn of the passing of former UO President Dave Frohnmayer, who died yesterday after a years-long battle with prostate cancer.

Dance Scholar Jordan to Visit UO

SOMD Students to present at UO Grad Forum
February 5, 2015—Five SOMD graduate students will participate in the UO Graduate School’s 6th Annual Graduate Student Research Forum, scheduled for Friday, February 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Ford Alumni Center on the UO campus.

January 27, 2015—Over the weekend of January 16-17, the Oregon Music Education Association sponsored the Oregon All-State Conference in beautiful Eugene, Oregon.
