John Storie is a guitarist, vocalist, arranger, and composer based in Los Angeles with an extensive international performance and recording career. He tours with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, led by Jeff Goldblum, and is a founding member of the acclaimed New West Guitar Group. His work has appeared on Billboard’s Jazz and Holiday charts, with collaborations that include Miley Cyrus, Fiona Apple, and Gwen Stefani.
In addition to his performance career, John has released original music as a solo artist, including the album "Ponderosa" with pianist Josh Nelson. He has performed at major festivals worldwide and led clinics at universities and conservatories across the U.S. and abroad.
John holds an MFA in Jazz Guitar Performance from the California Institute of the Arts and a BM in Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance from the University of Southern California. He has been recognized by the Downbeat Student Music Awards and the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz. Currently, he serves on the faculty at Pierce College and is an artist-in-residence at CalArts, where he teaches concert booking and tour planning for emerging musicians.
