When can I register?
You can find your assigned day and time on Duckweb. You should also check whether you have any holds that would prevent registration so that you can resolve them now.
There are new videos and instructions available to help you get familiar with the new Duckweb registration menu. If you’d like some additional support, you’re welcome to come to one of the Music Registration Lab times.
How do I plan my schedule?
You can begin by checking your degree requirements on Ducks on Track. Use the new planning tool on Duckweb to build your planned schedule—you can make up to 3 plans and register in just a few clicks.
I’m having trouble registering; what should I do?
There are a lot of things that could be happening if you’re having trouble registering. Before you email, please, see information below for navigating common registration issues.
Are you eligible to register?
You can check your eligibility (holds/pins) and assigned registration window in Duckweb.
Are you trying to register for the graduate level section?
Undergraduate courses are numbered 100 – 499; grad courses are 500 – 799.
Have you met the course repetition limit?
Fill out a course repetition form and email it to ugradmus@uoregon.edu for department approval.
Is there a time conflict with another course you’re registered for?
- Fill out a time conflict override form.
- Send it to both instructors to request their email approval.
(If the conflicting course is outside SOMD, you will also need to that secure department’s approval.) - Forward approval emails and the form to ugradmus@uoregon.edu for SOMD department approval.
Can’t find a course you expect to see?
It may be full! Check course listings on classes.uoregon.edu to find out.
Is the course full?
Join the waitlist (if one exists and there are spots available). If not:
- Request instructor permission to join the course.
- Upload instructor approval and submit the SOMD Override Request form.
- You will receive an email when you are cleared to register.
Is there departmental/instructor approval or some other restriction in place?
- Request instructor permission to join the course (if needed).
- Submit the SOMD Override Request form for Music classes; email Dana Gorman for Dance classes.
- You will receive an email when you are cleared to register.
