Steve Dunn joined SOMD in fall 2021 as Interim Director of Facilities Services. Steve has a musical background with a DMA in Trumpet Performance and has served in various teaching roles including professor of music at Northern Arizona University since 2005 and an adjunct instructor in SOMD. Steve brings construction and project management experience plus knowledge and experience with music equipment repairs and maintenance. He has over 25 years of experience in a School of Music working with various systems for scheduling recitals, masterclasses, jazz concerts, rehearsals, and recording sessions.
As the Interim Director of Facilities Services, Steve is responsible for performing and/or overseeing operations and maintenance of all SOMD buildings; overseeing interior and exterior upgrades and renovations; managing the day-to-day building safety concerns; managing building security and access; maintaining furnishings and equipment; submitting work order/service requests; coordinating office moves; and maintaining an inventory of space, occupancy, and equipment.
