Graduate check-in starts at 12:30 pm in Frohnmayer Music Building, room 173.
To participate in the SOMD ceremony, graduates of the class of 2026 need to:
- Complete the 2026 SOMD Commencement Qualtrics Survey by Sunday, April 26, 2026
- AND apply for their degree (Spring 2026 Term Deadlines: Graduate students/Gradweb April 10, 2026, Undergraduate students/Duckweb April 26, 2026)
- AND get guest tickets for the ceremony (2026 link coming soon).
Frequently Asked Questions for Graduates
Regalia
Regalia is not required for graduates attending our SOMD Commencement Ceremony, but the majority of our students opt to wear the traditional gown, cap and tassel. These items are available for purchase at the UO Duck Store. Please place your regalia orders before the ordering deadlines posted online for shipping or in-store pickup!
Students may request basic regalia from the UO Office of Basic Needs free of charge. Please note that only a limited number of donated items are available each year.
Identity-Based Graduation Celebrations
Community & Belonging (C&B) Unit within the Office of the Dean of Students is hosting a few identity-based graduation celebrations. All graduating students are welcome to participate in the celebrations.

Guest Ticket Information and Policy
SOMD graduates will be seated in the Beall Concert Hall audience so that the stage can be used for performances during the ceremony. Due to the size of our 2026 graduating class, seating in Beall Hall will reach capacity. Each student who registers to participate in our commencement ceremony may reserve two guest tickets in Beall Hall. Overflow seating will be available in the Music Building where the ceremony will be live-streamed.
- Graduation tickets are released to be claimed in two waves.
- WAVE 1: Tuesday, May 12 - Thursday, June 4
- Two (2) guest tickets may be claimed by each graduate.
- Graduates must use promo code (2026 code coming soon) to secure seats.
- Graduate will use their own name for the account in which the tickets are registered.
- Those who reserve more than two (2) seats will have additional tickets/orders canceled.
- WAVE 2: Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12
- A graduate may claim up to two (2) more tickets, based on availability.
- All tickets will be sent electronically on Saturday, June 13

On the Day of the Ceremony
- Any tickets not redeemed 15 minutes before the ceremony starts will be released on a first come first serve basis to anyone without a ticket.
- If your guest is late, and their ticket is reassigned, they will be invited to watch the ceremony in the overflow area where the ceremony will be live-streamed [link coming soon].
- Overflow and family-friendly seating will be located in Thelma Schnitzer Hall (Music Building Room 163).
- Doors to both Beall Concert Hall and the overflow room are scheduled to open at 12:15 p.m.
- Please contact SOMDscheduling@uoregon.edu for special seating accommodations before June 8th.
- Submit a request before June 1st if in need of audience accommodations by visiting the Accessible Education Center Support Services.
Eligibility to Participate
You may participate in the 2026 SOMD ceremony if you have:
- Graduated Fall 2025 or Winter 2026; Or applied for your degree for Spring 2026; Or will complete your degree requirements in Summer 2026.
- Completed the 2026 SOMD Commencement Qualtrics Survey by Sunday, April 26, 2026. This is NOT your degree application. If you miss the deadline to complete the SOMD Commencement Survey, please email SOMDscheduling@uoregon.edu.
Students graduating in 2026 who do not complete these two steps run the risk of not participating in the ceremony or may not receive guest tickets.
