Recorded Audition and Portfolio Submission

This webpage provides instructions on how to submit a recorded audition or portfolio. This is necessary only if your SOMD application requires additional files. Please review all requirements before submitting any materials.

STEP 1: COMPLETE ALL REQUIRED APPLICATIONS

Be sure to complete all your applications. Uploaded documents will not be processed (and may be deleted) if they are not paired with complete applications.

For freshman, transfer, or post-baccalaureate applicants:

For current UO undergraduate students who wish to major in music:

STEP 2: UPLOAD YOUR FILES ONLINE

FOR RECORDED AUDITIONS

  • Upload your audition recordings to a site such as YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, or similar.
  • Be sure videos are not classified as “private” and are accessible for us to view. In YouTube, these could be either “public” or “unlisted.”

FOR PORTFOLIOS (MUSIC TECHNOLOGY OR COMPOSITION ONLY)

  • Upload your portfolio recordings (audio or video) to a site such as YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, or similar.
  • Be sure videos are not classified as “private” and are accessible for us to view. In YouTube, these could be either “public” or “unlisted.”
  • For audio files, Google Drive works well, but be sure that when you “share” the file, you set it so “anyone with the link” can view.
  • Scores or other portfolio documents (other than audio/video links) should be saved in PDF format and will be uploaded directly to the form listed below in step 3.

STEP 3: SUBMIT LINKS TO YOUR UPLOADED FILES

Once you have completed steps one and two you can submit your files through our Recorded Audition and Portfolio Links form. Further directions can be found on that form.
