Naomi Castro serves as the Patron and Community Engagement Coordinator for the Oregon Bach Festival. She is passionate about collaborating with local organizations to offer free concerts and events for the community, while building partnerships with businesses that align with OBF's mission, fostering mutual growth and support.
Originally from the island of Oahu, Naomi taught K-12 choir for nearly ten years and was very active in Hawai'i's choral scene. She moved to Eugene in 2018 to pursue dual master's degrees in Choral Conducting and Voice Performance at the University of Oregon, where she was a graduate employee for the Music Education and Voice departments. Naomi has been the chorusmaster for Eugene Opera since 2019 and became a music/vocal director at Cottage Theatre in 2023. She leads an active performing life, singing with Central Lutheran Church Chorale, UO Musicking Ensemble, Oregon Bach Collegium, Eugene Vocal Arts, and Eugene Symphony Chorus.
In addition to musical endeavours, Naomi serves as secretary of the Eugene Active 20-30 Club, the local chapter of an international non-profit that serves local youth through volunteering and fundraising. When not in meetings or rehearsals, Naomi enjoys playing games at a local breweries and restaurants with her partner Dylan, or snuggling with her cat, Jabba, while watching reruns of the Great British Baking Show or Schitt's Creek.
