Julie has been with the UMKC Conservatory in Kansas City since 2010, serving as Head of Admissions, where she oversaw application and audition process for 700-800 annual applicants seeking degree programs in music, theatre, and dance. While in this role, Julie managed scholarship awards of over $4,000,000 through award and renewal process, annual contract process, and student eligibility verification. She also worked closely with several units in this process, including Conservatory faculty, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, and UMKC Foundation. Additionally, Julie had oversight of Conservatory recruitment activities such as college fairs, state conferences, on-campus recruitment events, group visits, print and digital marketing, support for faculty recruiting, and audition days. She is skilled in assessing application and enrollment trends to formulate data-driven recruitment strategies. Prior to her role as Head of Admissions, Julie was the Conservatory’s Coordinator of Festivals and Summer Programs. Before her time in higher education, Julie taught 5th through 12th grade instrumental music in southeastern Michigan.
