Nov. 21, 2013—The University of Oregon School of Music and Dance will present several concerts celebrating the holiday season, both on the UO campus and in the community. Holiday Choral Concert
Friday, December 6 (change from planned Dec. 7 date)
8 p.m., Beall Concert Hall, Frohnmayer Music Building
$7 general admission, $5 students and seniors
Four UO choirs will ring in the season with holiday and folk music from around the world, spanning from the 18th century to the present. The program will feature gospel music and drumming, as well as music from Polynesia, Ireland, and Africa. The performance will feature the Chamber Choir, University Singers, Repertoire Singers, and Concert Choir. Tickets are available at the door or in advance from the UO Ticket Office, 541-346-4363.
UO Gospel Choirs and Ensembles 30th Anniversary Concert
Sunday, December 8
5 p.m., Beall Concert Hall, Frohnmayer Music Building

Andiel Brown, director. The UO's gospel program celebrates thirty years of uplifting, high-energy music with an event honoring John Gainor, founder of the program; and former director Cedric Weary (who will also be a guest director for this concert). As part of the celebration, the UO is pleased to welcome the members of an alumni reunion choir featuring former stars of the gospel program. The concert will also feature holiday selections. Oregon Brass Quintet featuring UO Student Ensembles
Monday, December 9
7:30 p.m., Central Presbyterian Church, 555 E 15th Ave, Eugene
No admission charged; suggested donation of $10
Co-sponsored by Central Presbyterian Church. Funds raised will go to support Opportunity Village, a project that provides transitional housing for homeless individuals and couples. University of Oregon student brass chamber groups will alongside their faculty members in the Oregon Brass Quintet. The ensembles will perform holiday favorites, as well as other repertoire including selections from Donizetti's “Elixir of Love,” excerpts from the fourth movement of Mahler's 2nd symphony, and the traditional tune “The Cherry Tree.”
Suzuki Strings Holiday Concert
