February 23, 2016—We have just learned that in January of 2016, Pedram Diba, a junior student majoring in composition at the UO, has placed third in the Young Artists-National category of the Golden Key Music Festival. A total of 76 composers from fourteen different nations submitted works for consideration.

 

Diba’s awarded composition “Shoor” for two pianos is available on the Composers Circle website.

 

Along with the other winners, Diba is invited to Vienna, Austria in August to join the 2016 Tour of the Golden Key Festival and to perform his composition on the stage of Ehrbar Hall at the World Young Composers Recitals event in August 2016. Winners will receive their diplomas and medals during an award ceremony preceding the recital. 

 

Diba is currently seeking funds to make the trip a reality.
